MENU: <TOOLS ><DATABASE UTILITIES><COMPACT DATABASE>
Every database tends to swell with time. To free the space after deletion or modificaton of data, the database has periodically to be cleaned up and compacted. This is done by calling this procedure. Contemporarily, any fragmentations or inconsistencies in the data structure are traced and repaired.
The procedure may also be useful in the rare case when the database, due to hardware problems, gets damaged and results difficult to access.
Backup Database to Local Drive
MENU: <TOOLS><DATABASE UTILITIES><BACKUP DATABASE TO LOCAL DRIVE>
Makes a backup file of your database. The file will be compacted and zipped to keep required storage space at a minimum. By default, it will be saved to the subfolder “\backup” of the folder where the database is located. Confirm or select another folder after hitting the [Browse] button. The name of the backup files reflects the date and time of when the backup procedure was carried out, with the following format: [database-name].mydb_[YYMMDD].cbz. Example: mydata.mydb_160131.cbz for a file stored on Jan 31, 2016. To restore the saved backup-file, see next heading.

Restore File from Local Backup
